Skilled Trades Scholarships & Training Grants
Workforce development scholarships and training grants will be awarded to community college or technical school students seeking a career in a construction related skilled trade.
Eligibility Criteria & General Information:
- Scholarships and training grants will be awarded to students who are entering a program considered to be a skilled trade in the construction industry including but not limited to carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, masonry, etc.
- Scholarships and training grants will be for specific training courses and courses of study, awarded for a semester at local community college and/or workforce development training organization.
- Scholarship recipients will be eligible for consideration for renewal if they maintain satisfactory progress in their studies and reapply each semester.
- Scholarships and training grants will be considered on the recommendation of an advisor/teacher and on the applicant’s future plans in the construction industry as determined by the answers on the scholarship application.
- The amount and number of scholarships and training grants awarded will be determined by the Construction Careers Scholarship Committee based on the number of applications.
- Scholarship and training grants will be awarded at least twice per year or possibly more frequently.
